I don’t like to ever leave a bad review. However, I feel like this is almost a public service announcement. I transferred my nine-year-old and 15-year-old to Dr. Casey’s practice recently and I feel like I need to warn people that she is not a pediatric dentist. My nine-year-old needed a filling on the first day that we saw her and she rushed through the procedure and it was very uncomfortable for him. When we came back for a check up, Dr. Casey was on leave and had a much more experienced dentist filling in for her. When he met my son, he said with a little bit of shock that my son seemed to have been traumatized by a dentist and asked what happened. I told him that Dr. Casey gave him a filling. This other dentist walked through everything he did with my son, he was very gentle and asked permission before doing anything. This is such a vital trait with pediatric dentists, and I hope Dr. Casey sees this and takes note of that. As for my 15-year-old, she also needed a large filling for a tooth that had sneakily gotten decay close to the root. My daughter was also not pleased with her experience. And a year later, we find out that the decay had already grabbed onto the root and her tooth has been slowly dying. When we went in to get evaluated, Dr. Casey wouldn’t assess what was going on and just sent me out for referral. I took a picture of the x-ray they had taken and texted it to my own dentist along with a brief description of the tests that have been done and he immediately was able to tell me over the phone that my daughter had an abscess and needed a root canal. Without even seeing her. So, my assessment is that if you just need basic cleanings and you don’t have any dental anxiety, then you should be fine going to Dr. Casey. However, if you need anything more serious or have any hesitations with the dentist, or like someone who Is patient and explains what they’re doing in your mouth, then Dr. Casey is not the dentist for you. Go see someone more experienced. But, the office is beautiful with big windows looking out into the forest and the staff is very pleasant and helpful.
